I am currently in Spain working as an English Language assistant in a secondary school, teaching children from ages 11-18. I also tutor part-time to children 3 years+.
In my lessons you can expect lots of speaking and listening practice, games and also reading and writing. I am very versatile as a teacher, so I can cater to your personal needs, and areas of English that you wish to improve.
A lesson plan that I have previously done with my students is a primary level game, I would be introducing a football flash card game. As we all know, memory games are alluring for learners of all ages, and for young children learning a second language, a repeat visual memory game is the most enjoyable way to learn.
I would create a deck of flashcards online. On one flashcard there will be a household items names and on the other side will be the a picture of the item. The children would choose to flip a card over one at a time and will have to rely on memory to match the pairs.
During this game, they are learning about colours and household items in a fun way. A multi-learning session will keep the children engaged; I believe this will improve their cognitive skills and active recall. At primary level, giving smaller volumes of information at once, that doesn't come from a textbook, will aid them to retain the information more.
