From a teacher's point of view and experience, any class should be seen as the perfect class, but it involves many issues like the skills or abilities to measure, like when you are teaching speaking, listening, reading or writing, plus the proper use of language and level of the students. Any teacher must evaluate his own scoring or on the students side benefits, acknowledge from the language and other aspects from the language taught. If you ask me personally, my best classes are taught based on communicative approaches where students after modeling or practicing some models or structures may engage english for their own purposes on their own ideas and experiences where the modeling of the themes are more natural and focused on an ease natural speaking contexts and events when they use the structures learned to produce their ideas more naturally and funcional too.
Speaking any language takes many skills, abilities and the use sometimes of the 1st language to understand the meaning from the different contexts, grammatical structures, sceneries, etc. But I assure that when students try to communicate the best they can in any situation obviously from the prior language acquired or learned, and use it for their own purposes of meaning and to get their message across, there is where everything you did in class from the teaching point of view and the functional practice from the students. There is where and when you see the benefit from teaching and learning a new language. Providing the necessary tools,abilities and skills in any language school is always better to connect language from a speaking approach first combined with listening, reading and writing too for a complete and successful learning program.
So for me these would be the best classes taught and learned.
