Acerca de Emily
I have experience preparing students for KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE, PTE, TOEFL, and IELTS (Academic and General) exams.
At University I earned a dual degree in Spanish Language, Literature, and Culture and a degree in Politics. I have taught English to high school-aged students for two years and previously taught elementary-aged students online and adults in person. I have taught hundreds of people between the ages of 8 and 50 from across Europe, Central and South America, Asia, and Africa. So, I have experience teaching a wide variety of students!
Spanish is my second language and my experience studying this language and living in a foreign country allows me to understand English language learners like you better, which has made me a better English teacher. I empathize with the difficulties, frustration, and sometimes embarrassment involved in learning a new language. I also understand how much work you as a student put into learning English and how important this is for you.
My classes are centered around conversation and your interests. I want to find the way that you learn best while talking about things that are important to you. I also enjoy working on grammar, reading together, or studying target vocabulary with you. Whether you are someone who enjoys more laid-back and relaxed classes or if you are a person who prefers more structured lessons, I am here to make this class something you enjoy and feel comfortable in. I am here to help, support, be patient with you, and create a fun and engaging space for you to learn.
