Acerca de Leomile
I’m a professional singer, songwriter and performer with over ten years of experience, and I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Live Performance from AFDA and a Master’s degree in Global Entertainment & Music Business from Berklee College of Music. I’ve also completed specialist vocal coaching training and have released multiple recorded projects and performed on stages across Southern Africa and internationally.
But my own journey with singing has also been one of discovery and reclamation. I had always sung, but it was only when I got to university that I decided to really pursue music and give this part of myself the attention it had always been asking for.
That’s part of why I feel such a strong connection with singers who come to their voice later in life. Maybe you’ve always felt drawn to singing but never knew where to start. Maybe you sang when you were younger and lost touch with that part of yourself. Or maybe you’ve simply reached a point where you feel ready to explore what your voice can do.
I know what it feels like to have that yearning without necessarily knowing how to turn it into something tangible. My role as a teacher is to help you do exactly that: develop the technical tools, build confidence in your voice and give you the understanding to keep growing independently.

My approach is built around one thing: helping you learn to trust your voice.
I work particularly well with adult singers, late bloomers and returning singers who want to reconnect with their voice, build confidence and sing with freedom.
When I was learning to sing, I spent years doing vocal exercises without really understanding what they were doing or how they connected to the songs I wanted to sing. I didn't always understand why I was doing them or how to know what my voice needed.
That's something I approach differently in my teaching. We focus on bridging the gap between vocal technique and application: understanding how the work we're doing in a lesson connects to the way you actually use your voice when singing. Over time, this helps you recognize what your voice needs and make more informed choices about how to approach your singing independently.
The goal is not for you to depend on a teacher forever. It's for you to gradually become more independent in your singing, so that you can make informed choices about your voice whether you're in a lesson, rehearsing on your own or preparing a song.
I also specialize in mixed voice and register development. Mixed voice can be an especially useful part of developing a stronger, more connected sound, helping singers navigate their registers more smoothly and work towards powerful singing without relying on excessive strain.
Alongside our technical work, we'll explore musicality, interpretation and performance, always connecting what we're developing technically back to the music you're actually trying to sing.
You don't have to have started young to develop your voice. You don't have to already consider yourself a “good singer”. You just need to be curious about what your voice can do.
